Rieju has unveiled a new 125cc model in their ever-expanding learner range.
The new Century 125 has been styled to look like a scrambler thanks to the wire-spoked wheels, bash plate and high flat bars. The aesthetics are rather handsome but it looks like we have seen this before and we have! The Century is closely based on the Chinese made but Italian styled Mondial HPS125.
The Century shares the same engine from the Mondial, it’s a 125cc single-cylinder engine from Aprillia, which features in their Tuono 125 and the RS4 125. The counterbalanced engine has been tuned to produce 15hp at 9,750 rpm, torque of 12.3 Nm at 7,500 rpm and with its redline at 10,500 rpm it should be a buzzing little engine. A six-speed gearbox puts the power to the road and the Century 125 can reach a top speed of 80 mph.
The Rieju Century 125 could be an attractive option to a learner rider too and should be a blast to ride. Disc brakes all round, 41mm inverted forks at the front, dual remote reservoir shocks at the rear and a low weight of 135kg should make for a very capable learner machine.
Prices are yet to be released but we can imagine it will be priced very closely to that of the Mondial HPS, somewhere around the £3,500 region.
