If this is the future of Moto2, then we’re all going to be very happy indeed.
When it was first announced by Triumph that they had won the contract to provide the engines for Moto2 from 2019 the first reaction was one of mild shock – it was quite a coup for the British manufacturer and one of which they’re mightily proud.
The next thought? Well, for anyone who’s ridden the Triumph Daytona R then it was ‘DOES THIS MEAN THAT THERE WILL BE A NEW DAYTONA? PLEASE LET US KNOW THAT THERE IS A NEW DAYTONA ON THE WAY?!’
Or something like that.
The press shots of the bike in action during testing were enough to pique the interest of many. But in the metal – and having been started up and rev’ed during this year’s EICMA show – the only real question we have for Triumph now is ‘How much? Where do we sign? and PLEASE make a street version of this thing’.
It is beautiful.
