Road Redemption is the Road Rash we deserve for our troubled times

To quote Kotaku, ‘Road Redemption is the Kickstarted love-labor of some guys who realized EA was never going to bring back Road Rash’.

For those of you who don’t know, Road Rash was a videogame from the early ’90s that came out on the Sega Genesis that allowed riders the heady violent thrill of riding motorcycles whilst smacking the living daylights out of fellow road users by using a variety of ridiculous weapons.

It was wholly un-PC and unbelievably addictive. And amazing fun.

It’s also a game that probably wouldn’t get a main publisher release in this modern age of over censorship yet conversely – and arguably – more violent world.

So thank your relevant deity for Kickstarter.

Available now on Steam, we could wax lyrical for days about its relative merits, but we think that videogame website Kotaku said it best when they say that,

“Road Redemeption is the exact game a preteen would be playing when he tells his mom to shut up in a television series with a grim, dramatic plot.”

p.s. Ignore the fact that there is a rear-view mirror in it. Seriously, just pretend it’s all fine and that that’s how things should be in real life.
