Honda’s Neo Sports Café Racer might be perfect

The big ‘H’ preview their latest concept build at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Overshadowed – almost literally – by the new Honda Gold Wing announcement on the same day in the USA, the previously teased Honda Neo Café Racer was previewed in front of an adoring crowd at the Tokyo Motor Show this week.

Officially it’s classed as a concept machine, but with the release of the actual machine due to be show at EICMA on November 6th, we reckon that bar a few additional pieces – namely mirrors and the obligatory mountings for license plates etc – this is pretty, pretty close to final production.

Whilst other manufacturers – we’re looking at you Kawasaki and Suzuki – go the almost ‘faux’ retro route, it’s pleasing to see Honda take on a design challenge and try to add a little future spice to what is becoming an increasingly stagnant retro scene.

@HondaUKBikes That looks great… until they have to stick the black plastic number plate/reflector shovel on the back.

Tail light is neat and like how the seat unit meets the tank.

I like retro bikes and this looks great. I know Harley lovers hate the Softail range but for me the new Fat Boy has gone in a similar direction; keeping it’s classic lines but moving the styling into the 21st century. The Fat Bob looks cool too but in a Mad Max kinda way. I think this could be a good bike for Honda if they keep those lights!

I don’t like rectangular exhausts; and why don’t all companies come with frame sliders?
