Ducati have updated their Monster 821 for 2018; 25 years since the original first hit showrooms.
There hasn’t been too much to write home about with regards to the Monster line for a while now, and upon first glance, this 2018 Monster 821 doesn’t seem all that special either. But it’s probably worth looking again, because despite there being no major changes to the engine, the standard equipment upgrades are fairly substantial
The look is supposedly more agile, although it will take a Monster aficionado to spot the differences. The tank has been completely redesigned though, along with a new tail unit and falls back inline with the look of its larger, 1200cc sibling.
Arguably the largest change has been made to the dash and the electronics; the new 2018 Monster 821 now comes with a full colour TFT screen – just like the Monster 1200 and the little brother also now comes with the full set of safety features – triple level Bosch ABS and Ducati’s eight mode traction control.
Is it enough of an upgrade to entice those considering entering into the Ducati marque?
