Cheeky phone camera video shows the replacement to the Panigale being put through its paces in Misano.
The news that Ducati is moving over to a brand new, V4 architecture was finally let out of the bag a few weeks ago with the announcement of the final edition of the 1299 Panigale R.
With new regulations and homologation rules becoming tighter and stricter, it was inevitable the introduction of a new engine such as this was inevitable. But of course that still didn’t stop many from bemoaning the switch from the traditional, Ducati V-Twin.
Quite what those naysayers will make of this new spy video shot at Misano recently is anyone’s guess. But for us, that unmistakable, Ducati growl still seems to shine through – even if it is being produced by a couple more cylinders.
There’s not a lot to go on from the video, other than the noise. But with an announcement and reveal due at this year’s EICMA, this will keep us going for now.
