Six-Time World Superbike champion Max Biaggi has been taken to hospital after training injury.
Italian rider and former World Champion Superbike racer Max Biaggi has been badly injured during training near Sagittario, Rome.
Italian media is reporting that Biaggi was riding a Supermoto motorcycle as part of his training when the accident occurred, and that he has been treated for multiple injuries – including a broken shoulder – and was transported by helicopter to hospital. He is believed to have been conscious and alert after the accident.
Whilst not life threatening, the injuries are suspected to be severe, with several outlets reporting serious thoracic and spinal damage.
The accident comes just weeks after the tragic death of former MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden in a bicycling accident in Rimini, Italy.
First thing Valentino Rossi does is ask journalists how Max Biaggi is.
