Finale race sees Ducati rider Glenn Irwin take the top step after dramatic, last lap overtake.
Glenn Irwin won the finale race of the 2017 NW200 with a stunning ride and brave, last lap overtake over pre-race favourite Alastair Seeley.

Speaking after the event to the BBC, Irwin couldn’t contain his emotions,
“It is unbelievable. The reception from the crowd – I’m speechless. It just sums this wee country up. Big credit to Alastair, it was a really intense race. He’s had 21 wins here and you have to respect him. We have had our differences in the past, but for Ian and him to race that close behind me.”

With Irwin taking the top step from Seeley, it meant that he just missed equalling Phillip McCallen’s record of five wins at a single North West 200 meeting, having already won twice on Thursday and twice earlier today.
