Sales are up, so are exports.
Parent company Eicher must be pretty pleased with themselves at the moment. Despite reports that the Indian motorcycle market is suffering lately, Royal Enfield have announced that they sold 60,113 bikes in March this year. That’s 17% up from March in 2016.
Domestic sales were up 17% with a respectable 58,549 motorbikes sold during the month, but perhaps the more interesting figure is that 1,564 of the Royal Enfield machines were exports. Not a huge number when read in isolation, but that marks a 24% (or 303 unit) increase on 2016 for the same period.
Combining the first three months of the year together, that makes a 31% growth in year-to-date sales already.
