The Iris eTrike is a Sinclair C5 for the 21st century

Nephew of the legendary UK inventor Sir Clive Sinclair is selling new, £3.5k electric tricycle.

Grant Sinclair shares more than just DNA with his Uncle, he also shares the entrepreneurial spirit that made Sir Clive on of the UK’s most beloved household names during the 1980s.

So much so that Sinclair (junior) is looking to make a name for himself with his new venture, the Iris eTrike Extreme, a £3,500 electric, enclosed, electric tricycle that bares more than just a passing resemblance to his Uncle’s most infamous invention, the Sinclair C5.

Boasting a 30mph top speed and with a 50 mile range, the trike isn’t claiming to offer as revolutionary a change to British roads as it’s spiritual forbear promised, but with a fully enclosed cabin at least you can guarantee a dry arrival at your destination.

If this is your cup-of-tea then you can reserve yours now at the official website for £99.

keeping true to the C5 it still looks @shite. Let’s face it, it isn’t a real road going option.

Why not just get a mobility scooter and put a cover on it?
