But it’ll be for Japan and Southeast Asia only to begin with.
In a statement made by Takahiro Hachigo, the Honda CEO today, the Japanese manufacturer has announced that they’ll be bringing the stunning little EV-CUB concept to market ‘about two years from now’.
“Building on the Cub model, which have taken deep root in people’s everyday lives, we will strive to popularise the EV and reduce CO2 emissions.” – Takahiro Hachigo
The EV-CUB concept was first shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009, where it was pitched as a bike that will bring ‘enjoyment and convenience to the lives of people around the world and be appreciated as a product contributing to society’.
Elsewhere in his statement, Hachigo-San also outlined the company’s plan for Fuel-Cell Vehicles (FCV’s) which will begin to go on sale – again in Japan only to begin with – in March of 2016. There was no mention of FCV’s with regards to two-wheel vehicles however.
