Long, extruding fins, a matte-paint finish. This is a bike that will divide opinion.
But we’re going to set out our stall straight away and tell you that we love it.
For a personal purchase, looks and aesthetics are important of course. But this is a racing machine, and if Ducati engineers believe that four, insect-looking wings are going to be the difference between winning a couple of podiums and winning a lot of races – and possibly the championship – then we’re all for it.
Sure, there are a few more colours on it. (AND LESS RED! OMG!) And matte paint isn’t always loved by everyone – but who cares! If this bike helps Ducati towards their desired goals and improves MotoGP racing then all is good.
So, to celebrate 90 years of Ducati development, the Desmosedici GP16 is all about technical advances. And in turn these advances get passed down to our road bikes and make us all better and safer on our daily rides.
We welcome our new x-winged overlords!
