KTM 2017 MotoGP bike hits the track

This is the KTM RC16.

It’s been completely developed in-house by the big orange firm and last Thursday’s outing at the Red Bull Ring in Austria went ‘exactly according to plan’ judging by the words of Motorsport Director, Pit Beirer.

The 1000cc V4 powered machine is still a prototype of course, but with retired GP rider Alex Hofmann at the controls, KTM were all too keen to promote and show off their latest advances into the MotoGP paddock via social media.

“Thursday was a very emotional moment, not only for me but also for the company, and I believe for many KTM fans in Austria and all over the world,” – Pit Beirer

It sounds epic, and if it has any of the Moto3 or Moto2 pedigree that KTM have showed these past few years, it’s going to be an interesting 2017 season.
