In 2005 KTM unleashed the Superduke onto an unsuspecting world.
And it was incredible.
To launch it they produced one of the most loved and praised motorcycle teaser/trailers of all time. As much a lesson in unabridged celebration of hooligan riding as it was a festival of orange.
(It’s a shame that HD video wasn’t really a thing back then)
This is MCN’s review of the bike that year,
There is surely nothing more frenetic on two-wheels than the KTM 990 Super Duke short of sticking a nitrous kit, a jet turbine and a flame-thrower into the frame of a fold-up bicycle.
Then – earlier this year – KTM were at it again with this years’ 1290 Super Duke R. The only problem nowadays is that you’re not really allowed to demonstrate to potential customers that pulling wheelies on open roads can be fun. So they roped Jeremy McWilliams into taking it for a spin on the launch around the Ascari circuit. And – in our opinion – his onboard video is even better than that superslick promo from all of those years before.
