In Sturgis earlier this year, Roland Sands showed off his latest build, the ‘Track Chief’.
We managed to get hold of an awesome .gif of a burnout on the bike from the reveal, but there was oddly very little else with regards to photos or details of the build on the Internet.
Now – finally – we’ve got our first, close-up look at the build and it’s a gem.
Hard to believe that this once started life as the sound – but heavy – Indian Chief. As usual with Sands, he’s pretty much taken everything down to the bare metal and with a design from Holographic Hammer on the drawing board, there was a lot to do.
A leaf-sprung front, stripped out electronics loom, skinny 21″ wheels and a ton of other tweaks and changes meant a rush to get the build done in time for the Sturgis show, but by looking at the photos you wouldn’t know it.
It’s great to see the custom world embracing true change in recent months. If anyone ever tries to tell you that it’s all about hipsters with Cafe-Racers, you just send them here.
