Honda has finally let the cat out of the bag about the imminent arrival of the CB300F.
Rumours have circulated online for months about the 286cc, baby naked and now a subtle confirmation has arrived through Honda having to name the motorbike in question on emissions certification documents. The bike appears listed on the California Air Research Board documents under the name ‘CB300F’ along with the CBR300R and an ABS version, the CBR300RA.
The CB300F’s engine is identical to its fully faired counterpart. At 286cc, it also has the same emissions performance as the CBR300R. This means it should also make 30bhp and 19.8lbft of torque.
A launch in the small-bike-friendly markets of India and Asia is a near certainty and other documents would suggest a 2015 launch for the US market. With Europe seeing a resurgence in smaller capacity machines as well, it’s likely that we’ll see a few on our roads at the same time.
