Chinese Scrambler copy shows that imitation is still the sincerest form of flattery.
Do you remember when the only ‘street’ Scrambler you could buy was that one from Triumph?
It seems like years ago now when he hit the moment that we believed would be ‘peak scrambler‘ and we began to wonder if the whole factory scrambler fad was over… And yet now, here we are again writing about yet another Scrambler derivative. Only this one is a little bit different. Or rather it isn’t… Because it’s exactly the same as the one that Ducati sparked the whole resurgence off with just three years ago.
You almost have to give credit to this ‘version’ from Lifan Motors – if for no other reason than for the utter brass cojones that their management team must have for just deciding that they might as well copy the design of the Julien Clement penned original rather than bother to make any of their own effort.
Based on their own Hunter 125, this Lifan version of the Ducati won’t be winning any technical design awards, but for around £1200 your wallet will be thanking you.
Just don’t expect to be greeted with much fanfare riding this to the next World Ducati Week.
