Patent filings suggest that the turbocharged concept from Suzuki might just make it into reality.
Since its reveal at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the concept for a turbocharged Suzuki, parallel twin has had us shaking with excitement.
Is it finally going to get made?
Patents filed and currently being shared around the motorcycle blogs would appear to show a bike, looking very similar to that of the initial Recursion concept from Suzuki, would suggest that this bike is at least making it along the line of engineer drawing boards.
Despite the drawings looking close to the concept, there are some notable differences however.
The engine being displayed within the filled drawings looks to feature double-overhead-cams [DOHC] as opposed to the concept’s single-cam engine, which could mean that it’s actually the larger XE7 unit that the company showcased in 2015 at the same show.
We always take patent filings here with a large pinch of sodium chloride here at MFHQ. There’s been many a patent illustration that has got us all hot under the collar only for it to never see its way past the sketchpad or patent office.
But with Suzuki beginning their much delayed resurgence since being railroaded by the financial crisis of 2008, something tells us that this might just be the year that the Recursion bounces back.
