To celebrate Star Wars’ 40th anniversary, HJC have finally released their ‘X-Wing’ pilot lid.
After catching our first glimpse of the prototype versions of HJC’s officially licensed Star Wars motorcycle helmets at EICMA in November 2016, we’ve been waiting for official release details of what was perhaps the most ‘accurate’ of all of the proposals – Luke Skywalkers rebel pilot’s helmet… Orange visor and all.
With the basic frame of HJC’s open-faced design forming the perfect canvas for such a design, the attention to detail with battle scars and distressed paintwork combine with the drop-down, orange visor to create an almost perfect replica of Luke’s famous ‘Red 5’ costume. And the helmet is fully DOP and ECE approved.
There’s no official work on price or release date yet, but as part of the current Star Wars celebrations, ten of these helmets have been signed by Mark Hamill and are available for auction (starting price $1000) on the Omaze.com website – in aid of UNICEF and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
