Piaggio commit to electric-driven future.
It may only be a small step forward, but it’s the most logical one for the owners of Moto-Guzzi, Aprilia and Vespa to make.
Announced this week at the EICMA Motorcycle show in Milan, the Vespa Elettrica is Piaggio’s first steps into an anticipated electric future.
There is no word on price, or indeed any word at all on performance, so we have no idea as to charging times, range or speed of the battery-driven Vespa.
We do know that production and sales are planned to start in the second half of 2017 however, and we also know that the form factor is as cute and as perfect as any Vespa should reasonably be.
With competition in the market expanding at a rapid rate (we recommend that you see our feature on GoGoro from last year‘s event) it’s a welcome advance from everyone’s favourite scooter brand.
