We thought that the Iron Man lid couldn’t be topped. We were wrong.
When HJC released their first Marvel superhero collection of helmets we were pretty excited. When they emailed us over night with details of their new Spiderman and Venom lids we may have made a few strange noises.
Just look at them!
As they are based around their already excellent RPHA 11 Pro models the safety credentials aren’t in doubt. But let’s be honest here, if you’re seriously considering getting one of these then it’s the graphics that matter. And boy, oh boy have they outdone themselves this time.
With both designs featuring the large eyes of the character’s masks as the main focal point of the lid, it would have been easy for HJC to just stick a couple of stickers on them, double the price and be done. But if our view of these teaser images is correct then it looks very much as if HJC have chosen to overprint some of the graphics onto the visor itself. Meaning that the eyes face forward and, in Venom’s case particularly, make everything look just that little bit more menacing.
We’ve not been given details on localised pricing (they’re going to be around $599 in the US), but we’ve been told that the scheduled release date is for 16th October here in the UK.
Which means that you can get the jump and be ready for the new Spiderman: Homecoming movie in July next year!
